Vintage HRE 501 16x9/8 FORGED 3-piece alloys fully restored.
- HRE 501 16x9 Rear, 19mm offset, 5.75 inch backspace
- HRE 501 16x8 Front, 6mm offset, 4.75 inch backspace
- Lug spacing is 5 on 120mm with a 72.56mm center bore
- Weight = 18.6 lbs
- Fully Restored.
- This included verifying the wheels were true, and repairing some minor curb rash and flat spots on a couple wheels.
- The outer lips were polished to a high luster mirror finish using the correct high speed polishers and compounds. Note there are 4 minor flaws in the polished finish, so please see the photos.
- The entire wheel center (minus the mounting pad and mounting flange) and center cap waffle plate were then powdercoated with a metallic silver resin that very closely matches the stock BMW silver wheel paint color, followed by a clear powdercoat to provide a very thick and glossy durable finish without an orange peal surface texture.
- The center, barrel, and outer polished lip were then cleaned and prepared for assembly using freshly chrome plated original rivets and cleaned original nuts. The sections were assembled using silicone sealant between the sections. A band of silicone sealant was then applied to the outer circumference of the wheel sections to provide an effective seal.
- I have spun each wheel on a balancer and verified that it is 100% trued and straight.
- The four restored center caps were assembled using the correct waffle plate retaining screws. The chrome plated plastic internally threaded hex nuts were polished and installed using the included original HRE installation tool. Note there are minor pitting and occasional scratch marks on all four of the hex nuts. Please see the photos.
- The 60 degree conical seat lug hole surfaces were reamed to make sure all the powdercoat was removed from these critical surfaces.
Extremely rare wheels. Way less common than BBS RS wheels. Please see all the photos so you can see the quality of the wheels and the restoration work. Supersize to see the details.
These wheels are designed for older BMW models from the '80s and '90s. They will fit an E30 M3 (I used them on mine, but the front fenders rubbed the tires on occasion. I have provided the specifications for these wheels. Please study them and understand how they relate to what will fit your car. They will fit only 5-lug BMW models. Please ask questions if you do not understand.
Packaging. I ship wheels in pairs so this set will go out in 2 boxes. Each pair is double-boxed, with rigid foam material between each box. This adds some cost, but my wheels never get damaged in transit.

RETURNS. Aardvarc take great pride in providing used and restored wheels that are packaged and shipped in the condition described. We are experts in the field and do not offer items that are defective. Once wheels leave our facility, damages can occur. We encourage the buyer to open and fully inspect this set of wheels within 3 days of receipt and make any "not as described" claims within this period. In the event the buyer is not pleased with the wheels due to Aardvarc's error in not properly describing the wheels or as a result of transport, Aardvarc will accept and pay for return shipping of the wheels, and will make a full refund or make the appropriate repairs and ship the wheel(s) back to the buyer at Aadvarc's expense. If the buyer's installer damages a wheel, Aardvarc is willing to make any repairs at the buyer's expense. If the buyer has "buyer's remorse" and wants to return the wheels because they do not fit his car or are not the correct color, size, or other aspect, Aardvarc will accept a return and refund buyer's full payment minus the original shipping cost and a 10% restocking fee. In other words, be sure you want this set of wheels.
